I am…I want to be…Prayer

I am loved, compassionate, a child of God, redeemed, honest, intelligent, kind, committed, deserving of love, a sinner, forgiven, beautiful, wise, caring, and creative.

I want to be confident, self-assured, indpendent, joyful, forgiving, affirming, patient, fearless, and free.

PRAYER

My emotions are unclear. I don’t know what to do, think, or say. Holy Spirit, be my guide. Help me to choose my words carefully and speak life affirming words. Help me to listen that I may hear God speak to me. Open my eyes so that I may see the path laid before me. Help me to guard my heart while I learn to live and love through tests, trials, and tribulations. Take over my very being so that I can live righteously, seeking to be conformed to the image of Christ.

Lord, Thank you. Thank you for loving me despite my sins and failures. Forgive me for falling into temptation instead of patiently waiting on you. Forgive me for my negative thoughts and for anything I’ve done or said to cause someone else hurt or pain. Lord, I need you. I need your comfort. I need your peace. I need you to save me from myself. Help me find myself. Walk with me as I try to find meaning and purpose apart from him.

Show me who you would have me be and where you would have me go. Please speak to me. I need to hear your voice. I need to know that you are near. I want to feel your very being with me. I am fairly lost at the moment. I don’t know what I feel, nor do I know where I’m going. I just know I don’t want to be here. Help me to seek you first in all I do, say, or think. Help me to love through my pain and frustrations. I trust you are here, that you have a plan for my future, and a purpose for my life apart from any and all persons. I am yours and you are mine.

“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalms 34:17-18

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord deliver him out of them all.” Psalms 34:19
